MATCH
REPORT FOR 29 APRIL 2007
Division
1 champions Sri Lankan Cavaliers started off the season with a comfortable
8 wicket win over newly promoted Kingsbury Construction. Anson marked
their return to division one with a 100 run victory over Lankians
thanks largely to 113 from Darren Mathura and 4-35 from Prashant
Ajitsaria.
In
division 2, Bharat Olympians and Muktajivan tied their match with
both sides level on 142 runs; Gopal Raghavani top scored with 62.
Dhiren Haria marked Kondor's return to division 2 with 4 wickets
in 4 balls in his haul of 6-38 as they made light work of Lohana
total of 90. Prinay Patel (50no and 3-20) and Tejas Metha (4-22)
eased Dharmaj to their opening win against Magenta Security. West
Harrow's Sanjay Trivedi took 2-3 and made 39 in their 56 run win
over Welldon.
The
opening pair of Rajiv Tanna (33) and Niraj Rughani (62) put on 85
for the opening partnership in 14 overs for Young Lions against
Sayona. The score steadily accumulated and Aryuat Patel finished
the innings well (scoring 52 from 23 deliveries including five 6s).
Jatin Patel (59) assisted by Mohammed Akberally (34) and Manoj Patel
(31) and Jinesh Patel laid a good foundation for Sayona. However,
by 38th over the game became intense with fall of quick wickets
as the score went from 197 for 4 to 209 for 7. Sanjay Singlal guided
Sayona home easily with 6 balls to spare. There were very comfortable
wins for Indiana, United Sports and Young Puthoharis over Youth
Wing, EKTA and Regency respectively.
Shivam
marked their life in the league with a win over Rajput Samaj 2nd
XI. Dharmesh Cantilal (59), Bhavyesh Cantilal (44) and Anil Deuji
(36no) made useful contributions as Shivam complied 230-9 in 40
overs. Rajput Samaj 2nd XI were unable to mount a challenge as they
finished 97 runs short.
