MATCH REPORT FOR 3 JUNE 2007

Neasden's Jalu Patel held their innings together against Lankians as they scored 153-8 in 40 overs. An aggressive innings of 73 from Sankalpa Gunasekara ensured that Lankians reached their target in 24 overs as Neasden bowling showed little penetration. Kingsbury Construction ended Embassy's unbeaten run in the league with a comfortable win by 59 runs. In a low scoring game between Rajput Samaj and Stanmore Jaffrey's, the former managed to secure their second league win to move into third place. The game between Anson and Sri Lankan Cavaliers failed to go to a conclusion.

In division 2, West Harrow succumbed to Magenta Security by 29 runs. Magenta's win was set by thanks largely to Vimal Narendra (96) and Mitesh Louchande (59). West Harrow's Pinakeen Patel responded with 79; however Nilesh Patel (4-40) helped to restrict West Harrow to 190 in their allocated overs. Kondor moved within one point of West Harrow following their 3 wkt win over Bharat Olympians. Kondor recorded their first batting points of the season as they made 170-7 in 40 overs. Deepak Singh led the way with 53; Syed Shah took the bowling with 4-24. Jilesh Pattni lead the response with 56, however useful contributions from all the Kondor bowlers ensured that Bharat Olympians fell short of the target by 26 runs. Muktajivan made 202 for 9 against Welldon. Half centuries from Nilanjan Mjumdar (67) and Pritesh Patel (54) gave Welldon hope of a win; however useful bowling from Suresh Varsani (4-22) and Nitin Patel (3-33) dashed their hopes.

Indiana continue to show the most improvement this season as they crushed Sayona by 132 runs. Indiana batting first made 211 with Divyesh Depala (70) taking the batting honors. Indiana bowlers Mayur Depala (4-21), Ravinder Popatia (2-9) and Darshan Depala (2-15) than ran through the Sayona batting as they were all out for 79. EKTA defeated Young Puthoharis by a margin of 9 runs with the main highlights being 75 from Rana Kashaf of Young Puthoharis and an all round performance from EKTA's Imran Ahmad who made 58 and took 3-22. Youth Wing's Jagdish Patel took 5-38 against United Sports but this was insufficient as they fell 62 runs of their target.

Ashley, Shivam and Rajput Samaj all had comfortable victories over Neasden II, United Sports II and Welldon II respectively.
