MATCH REPORT FOR 15 JULY 2007

Lankians won the toss and elected to bat first against Anson. A hundred run partnership between Suranga and Indrajit Coomaraswamy in 15 overs guided Lankians to 234-9 in 40 overs. Suranga Dalluwatta scored 115 runs in 87 balls with fourteen fours and 5 massive sixes. Sankalpa Gunasekara did early damaged by removing top three just for 10 runs. Anson batsmen Mohammed Abid counter attacked by scoring 112 runs. However Anson panicked when they had just 12 runs to score in the last 3 overs with 4 wickets in hand. Lankians won the match by 5 runs in a thrilling finish.

Embassy extended their lead as they easily defeated third place Rajput Samaj in a low scoring game. Sri Lankan Cavaliers were comfortable winners over Kingsbury Construction with Udaykumara Kapugama making 78, whilst lack of registered players for Stanmore Jaffrey's resulted in them forfeiting the match against Neasden.

In division 2, Narendra Patel of Kondor carried out a demolition job on Lohana by taking 5-17 and than smashing 63no. West Harrow continued on their merry way at the top with an easy win over Welldon as the experienced Dilip Thakkar and Alpesh Patel took 5-28 and 3-19 respectively; Pritesh Vaghella made 59 for West Harrow. Sunil Patel made 63 in Bharat Olympians 22 run win over Muktajivan.

Young Puthoharis ended United Sports unbeaten league run in a narrow 10 run victory. Kashif Rana made 56 for Young Puthoharis in setting their target of 182. Rohan Salvi (90) was the only United batsman who made a major contribution to their total of 172. Indiana secured their 7th league win at the expense of EKTA to take them back to the top of division 3.

Youth Wing eased their relegation worries by defeating second from bottom Young Lions. Jigar Patel (Snr) 55, Aval Patel 48 and Ramesh Patel 43no all contributed to the Youth Wing total of 252-7 in 40 overs. When Young Lions batted only Rajiv Tanna (55) made a notable contribution to their total of 169

In division 1 2nd XI competition, Shivam crushed South Harrow by 145 runs to remain top of the table; Dharmendra Vaja made 80 for Shivam. In a similar vain, Ashley inflicted a 143 run defeat on Rajput Samaj II with Jaskaran Thandi making 79.
