MATCH REPORT FOR 22 JULY 2007 Embassy consolidated their position at the top of division 1 with a 51 run win over current champions Sri Lankan Cavaliers. Embassy batting first made 174 with Ali Haider top scoring on 27. In the Sri Lankian Cavaliers response, Ali Baker and Daud Haider both took 3 wickets each as SLC were bowled out for 123. Rajput Samaj made a splendid start as 53 can off the first 14 overs for the loss of only one wicket against Lankians. A major collapse saw Rajput all out for 93 as Osanda Yapa 2-3 and Suranga Dalluwatta 2-2 took the bowling honors. Nilesh Patel finished making 45. Lankians responded with 95-1 in 25 overs as Sankalpa Gunasekara made 75no. Anson lost ground to Embassy as their game against Neasden was abandoned whilst Stanmore Jaffrey's failed to honor their second game of the season. In division 2, West Harrow remain on top after defeating Lohana by 20 runs. Meanwhile, Kondor inflicted a humiliating 145 run defeat on Dharmaj. Kondor compiled 192-9 in 40 overs with Narendra Patel and Rishi Kotecha making 65 and 54no respectively. When Dharmaj responded they were bowled out for 47 as Dhiren Haria 4-10 and Deepak Singh 4-14 dominated the bowling. Magenta Security eased their relegation worries a little by defeating Muktajivan by 3 wickets; Mitesh Louchande made 63 and took 4-33. Indiana recorded their 8th league win in division 3 to open up a 17 point gap over 2nd placed United Sports. Chetan Depala made 81 in their top of 237-7 in 40 overs against Regency whilst Gaurav Mehta and Divyan Depala both weighed in with 41 each. Mukesh Depala than took 5-22as Regency were bowled out for 139. Young Lions won their match against United Sports to ease some of their relegation worries. Rajiv Tanna and Niraj Rughani both made 47 in their total of 147-9 in 40 overs; United's Aleem Jethwa took 5-12. Imran Ismail (43) was the only batsman to show any resistance as Nishil Tanna took 4-12 in their response of 115. EKTA and Young Puthoharis both had comfortable wins over Youth Wing and Sayona respectively. Welldon II brought an end to Shivam's unbeaten run in the 2nd XI competition; Kalapi Magan took 5-13 for Shivam. United Sports II remain at the foot of the table following their 9 wkt defeat at the hands of Rajput Samaj II for whom Yogeshkumar Jhala took 5-10. |
