MIDDLESEX PREMIER CUP SEMI-FINALS
Rajput
Samaj batting first against Lankians slumped to 100-7 in the semi-final
of the Middlesex Premier cup. Seetal Patel produced a mature innings
of 100 in 85 balls which allowed Rajput to finish on a defendable
200-9 in 45 overs. Lankians were cruising at 153-5 in 30 overs as
former Sri Lankan international Pradeep Jayaprakasdaran contributed
with a well constructed 77. Pratik Patel took 3 quick wickets to
end Lankians hope of reaching the finals against Sri Lankan Cavaliers.
Lohana
were restricted to 140 in 44.4 overs against Sri Lankan Cavaliers
as Duminda Abeytunga took 3-27. Sri Lankan Cavaliers were in deep
trouble as they drifted to 108-9. The last pair from Sri Lankan
Cavaliers managed to get SLC home with 2 balls to spare. Nabeel
Shah top scored for Sri Lankan Cavaliers with 29. Sri Lankan Cavaliers
will meet Rajput Samaj in the final on Bank holiday Sunday 26th
August.
MIDDLESEX PREMIER PLATE SEMI FINALS
The
game between Kingsbury Construction and Young Lions was reduced
to 37 overs due to damp conditions. When Kingsbury Construction
batted they made 215-5 with Suresh Gopal making 58 and Dharmesh
Mepani 45no. The Young Lions tried to chase the target of nearly
6 an over; however there was only one significant contribution from
Niraj Rughani 66 as they were bowled out for 187.
Embassy
amassed 266-5 in 45 overs against Neasden with notable batting performance
from Amir Shehzad 80no, Zeehan Choudary 78 and Ali Haider 41. Amir's
50 came from 18 balls. Neasden could only manage 151 with 50 coming
from Nayan Patel. Embassy will meet Kingsbury Construction in the
plate final on 26th August.
In
the division 2, Magenta Security thrashing of Dharmaj left the latter
in deep relegation trouble. Dharmaj were firstly bowled out for
101 as Mian Kamran Shafique took 5-35, than Shaikh Iqbal smashed
81 in 35 balls which included 7 sixes and 7 fours as Magenta reached
their target in 10.1 overs.
In
the 2nd XI competition, Welldon IIs completed 14 run win over Neasden
II; Hardik Simaria took 5-41 for the latter.
