Report for 12 July 2009

Kingsbury Construction lost to Sri Lankan Cavaliers by 6 wickets in the quarter finals of the cup. KCCC batted 1st and were all out for 138 runs off 43.3 overs with contributions from Hasmukh Vekaria (42) and Vinod Bhanderi (28 no). SLC knocked of the runs of 21.2 overs for the loss of 4 wickets with Vinod Bhanderi taking 2-36. Lankians made 214 in their 45 overs against Bharat Olympians with Mohammed Fahad and Suranga Dalluwatta making 46 & 43 respectively. Yogesh Prabhu was the pick of the Bharat Olympian bowlers with 4-47. Bharat Olympians were restricted to 194 in 42 overs as the spinners played a role in stemming the flow of runs.


Rajput Samaj were bowled out for 106 by Anson as Birju Mehta 3-17 & Kamlesh Desai 3-19 took the bowling honours; Dhiren Darbar top scored with 49. Anson made 109-3 in 33.1 overs with Hitesh Goswami making 49no to book their semi-final place against Neasden. Pranay Patel took 4-17 for Neasden as they bowled out Indiana for 138. Chetan Depala took 5-31 to give Indiana hope, however a contribution of 42 from Murthy Kapil guided Neasden to 139-7 in 29 overs

In the encounter of the DIUs, it was the Daredevils that won comfortably against the Community of Southall. DIU Daredevils decided to bat first and were rewarded by 87 from Sikesh Navinchandra in their total of 218 in 45 overs. Mahesh Quirticumar took 3-32 When DIU Community of Southall batted they struggled with Dharendra Liladhar taking 3-24 as they were bowled out for 81 in 25 overs.

Rajput Samaj II's made Bhupendrasinh Zala 85 not out in their total of 214 against Muktajivan for whom Suresh Varsani took 4-23. Muktajivan were never in the hunt as they could only muster 122. South Harrow were shot out for 95 by West Harrow, who than reached their target in 13.3 overs with Siddharth Desai 60 not out.

 


In division 3, Young Puthoharis extended their lead at the top of the table with a win against Neasden IIs. Tejpal Singh (77no) and Dawar Aziz (53) assisted in Young Puthoharis posting 256-8 in 40 overs. Tejpal than took 2-12 and with Sunny Singh (3-26) ensured an early finish as Neasden II were all out for 143 in 27.1 overs. Baladia made 222-8 in 40 overs against Sayona with Rahul Vekaria & Rajni Bhojani making 57 & 45 respectively. A seasonal best from Suresh Jesani of 6-28 ensured Sayona were restricted to 193.
