AMIR KHAN IS BASA 'SPORTS PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR' 2007

Boxer Amir Khan was awarded the 'Sports Personality of the Year' 2007 prize on February 16th 2008 at the British Asian Sports Awards (BASA). This year, BASA - the UK's only Asian Sports Awards programme - acknowledged a variety of sporting fields and abilities, with winners including Amir Khan, Jatinder Singh Rakhra (Wrestling) and Vikash Dhorasoo (Lifetime Achievement).

FOOTBALL FEVER KICKS OFF WITH NIHAL

Football's ultimate 'January Sale' has kicked off with the launch of Football Aid's annual auction. In his first appearance as Celebrity Ambassador for Football Aid, Nihal, who presents BBC Radio's fast paced football show, 'Kickin Off', was delighted to announce the launch of the annual auction, where fans can now bid for a place in their Club's team sheet.

PREMIER LEAGUE PARTNERSHIP WITH MAGIC BUS IN INDIA

Chancellor Gordon Brown today launched the Premier League's international development strategy in Mumbai, India. Speaking at the announcement of a three year partnership between the Premier League and Magic Bus, a Mumbai-based sports development charity - the Chancellor said: "Everywhere you go people want to talk about English football'.

BOLLYWOOD COMES TO CHELSEA

Chelsea Football Club are to play a leading part in a big Bollywood film next year. The double Premiership champions have teamed up with Yash Raj Films, the top production house of the Indian film industry. The film, Jhoom, stars two of Bollywood's biggest names, Abhishek Bachchan and Preity Zinta.
