Finally
a collection which is prêt in the truest sense of the word.
It's trendy and stylish and totally in sync with the theme of the
fashion week - Autumn-Winter collection. Designer Ashish Soni's
compilation on the last day of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion
Week (WIFW) deservedly won a loud applause and even a couple of
whistles during and after the show.
The
show began with the popular track "She's got the look"
playing in the background and the model sashaying down the ramp
in a beige and green coloured dress with a chocolate viscose high
polo necked T-shirt underneath and a Chinese cap.
Thereon
the collection revealed a whole lot of clothes which can be worn
by not necessarily the fashion conscious - ribbed polo neck T-shirts,
pleated skirts, bermudas, cashmere three-fourth trousers, long tie-up
collar satin shirts and even shorts. Keeping the theme in mind,
the collection also displayed a lot of jackets, overcoats, knitted
collar and polo neck sweaters. None of it though gave the heavy
look that is generally seen in woollen wear.
Leaves
and flower imprints largely dominated the collection. Bows also
made a frequent appearance in most of the dresses, shirts and skirts.
Brown, chocolate, burgundy, wine, cream, black and army green are
the colours that dominated the palette. In contrast, there were
a few dresses in bright pink and blue as well.
"Winters,
internationally and even in India are generally associated with
warm colours," said Soni after the show. Talking about the
collection he said: "I have tried something new this time.
But my collection is very wearable. I believe that one should make
clothes which can be worn."
Well
said. And he has someone to vouch for his collection. Actor Rahul
Bose who was here for the show said: "I think Ashish's clothes
are amazing. His cuts are awesome and some of the dresses are just
so beautiful. Other than his, I think Sabyasachi and Tarun Tahliani
are great".
