Jayant Raniga named on
jewellers 'Hot 100' List
15th September 2010
Jayant
Raniga of London family retailer 'PureJewels' was
named as one of Professional Jeweller magazine's
inaugural 'Hot 100' this month. Raniga was one of
just 20 British retail stars picked in the 'Hot
100' which includes notable names such as Nadja
Swarovski, Nicholas Wainwright of Boodles, Stephen
Webster and Shaun Leane. Raniga is seen as one of
the most creative and talented businessmen in the
British jewellery industry today. He said of PureJewels,
"The jewellery business is in our blood. The
brand we are proud of today was conceived by our
grandfather Bhanji Gokaldas, and today we have three
generations of the Raniga family that work in the
business."
Rob Corder, director of ITP
Publishing Group, the publisher of Professional
Jeweller and of the Hot 100 list, said, "We
are drawing on what the most successful brands
in the British jewellery and watch industry are
doing: reaching out across traditional media,
the internet and events to help forge connections
between the people that will drive business forward.
Jayant was selected as a groundbreaking leader
for his work at PureJewels, particularly its Platinum
Heritage Collection, and for his tireless efforts
for London Jewellery Week. We are honoured to
include him in the exclusive Hot 100 club in its
inaugural year".
Raniga has had a rollercoaster
year, having worked with the cream of Britain's
jewellery talent to promote London Jewellery Week
and to launch Discover Jewellery magazine, supporting
the jewellers of Green Street in east London.
He has been at the forefront of the dynamic branding
campaign of Green Street jewellers. He was also
one of the key architects of London Jewellery
Week, which made a strong comeback this year despite
the financial crisis. PureJewels' Platinum Heritage
Collection, inspired by the story of PureJewels,
was showcased at London Jewellery Week and underscored
Raniga's support for young UK designers.
