Saran Kohli: Best Newcomer
at the International Asian Fashion Awards

British
menswear designer Saran Kohli shone at the International
Asian Fashion Awards (IAFA) held at London Hilton
Park Lane on Saturday 19th November 2011. Having
showcased an astounding cutting edge menswear collection,
rising star Saran Kohli went on to win the Best
Newcomer Award in Fashion as selected by a panel
of fashion industry experts including Neeta Lulla,
HSY Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, Lubna Rafiq,
Sultan Asi, Jyotika Oberoi and Onita Prasada Vashisht.
The 26-year-old designer follows in the footsteps
of his mother, pioneering couture designer Mani
Kohli of Khubsoorat Collection, further adding panache
to an already thriving brand.
Having been involved in the
fashion world since a very young age of 15, Saran
trained his eye for style while assisting the
brands celebrity clientele including, Bollywood
actors, members of the English royal family, Middle
Eastern royalty and international socialites.
Saran, a B.A (Hons) graduate from London College
of Fashion in Fashion Management was quickly tapped
by Japanese designer Michiko Koshino as a PR/Marketing
assistant. Hugo Boss came next as he was headhunted
for a position in sales and later promoted to
Hugo Boss Red/Black Collection Analyst. Saran
later served as a Menswear Personal Stylist/Customer
relations for VIP clients of Banana Republics
London flagship store.

to be accepted and recognized by such great fashion
icons which makes me even more proud of my roots
and look forward to the growth of UK Asian Fashion.
The Saran Kohli Collection
gathers inspiration from all aspects of the young
designers life from music, to dance and
his extensive global travels. The line is geared
towards the man who prefers a distinctive, more
personalized style that blends elements of global
culture and music while remaining true to the
principles of traditional tailoring and cut. The
Saran Kohli brand is most recognized for its distinctive
style of jackets that can best be described as
a fusion of impeccable English silhouettes with
an urban flair. The signature cuts are conceived
in luxurious fabrics of silk, wool, velvet and
jacquard and seem to be favoured most by musicians
and other creative artists.
Recently JLS, Jay Sean, Lenny
Henry, Fugitive, Mumzy Stranger, DJ Ironik, H
Dhami, Juggy D, Ameet Chana (Bend It Like Beckham
& Eastenders) and Bikram Singh have been seen
in Saran Kohlis line.
