The
South Asian International Film Festival 2011
(SAIFF) will take place from Wednesday, November
9th to Tuesday, November 15th 2011 in NYC
with ' Abu, Son of Adam' premiering on opening
night, November 9th 2011. This year, SAIFF
also hosts a special event, 'In Conversation
with Shekhar Kapur' on November 12th at which
he will acept the SAIFF Foundation Award.

Aspiring
Indian screenwriters are invited to apply
for Mumbai Mantra (March 2012), a 5-day workshop
that will give them an opportunity to work
intensively on their script with creative
advisors including established screenwriters
and filmmakers from around the world. The
lab is open to screenwriters / filmmakers
who are Indian, Indians living abroad, and
non-resident Indians / of Indian origin or
those with mixed parentage.

of Love' to be rushed out on video-on-demand
service |
Warner
Bros. Digital Distribution and Codeblack Entertainment
announced their plans to release the romantically
charged comedy 'Politics of Love' via Video
On Demand (VOD) beginning September 1, 2011.
This platform reaches more than 100 million
homes and will allow the film to be viewed
via VOD as the US Election campaign gets underway.

on June 21st at the United Nations in Geneva
representing the youth civil society from
India. The actor, singer, producer, musician
delivered a presentation under the 2010-2011
theme of the International year of Youth:
Dialogue and Mutual Understanding. The conference
was titled The New BRIC's Youth Generation
and their social responsibility in the globalized
world.
