Film Festival (IAAC) 2009 in New York features
'Today's Special' by director, David Kapalan.
Starring Aasif Mandvi, Naseeruddin Shah and
Madhur Jaffrey, the film is based on Mandvi's
Obie-Award winning play 'Sakina's Restaurant'.

28 - November 3rd, 2009 |
 The
2009 South Asian International Film Festival
(SAIFF) which runs from October 28th until
November 3rd in New York City will open with
the world premiere Sujoy Ghosh’s 'Aladin'.
The film is a classic tale about a bullied
orphan whose life changes when a genie enters
his life to grant him three boons to fulfill
his contractual obligations.

Motion Pictures’ films Oye Lucky! Lucky
Oye!, A Wednesday and Jodha Akhbar will be
showcased at the Indian Cinema Exhibition
scheduled to be held at the Museum of Modern
Art (MoMA), New York from 8th – 17th
June 2009. These films will be lined up for
the exhibition titled 'The New India'.

Millionaire' grosses $67.24 mn ahead of Oscars |
 After
winning the top honour from the Directors
Guild of America (DGA) for the Mumbai-set
hit film "Slumdog Millionaire",
British Director Danny Boyle appears to be
on the inside track for an Oscar at the Academy
Awards ceremony Feb 22. The film has earned
a whopping $67,244,000 in its 12 week run
in the US.
