exhibition, which runs from June 24th to October
2dn, 2011, celebrating the many manifestations
of Vishnu. It serves as both a primer on Hinduism
and a survey of Indian art. The exhibition
features 170 objects that explore the many
personae and legends of Vishnu as well as
the diverse traditions of worship that have
celebrated him.

Kumar, reflects a broad range of life experiences
and aesthetic values.

OF MODERN SOUTH ASIAN ART NETS OVER $10M |
Todays
(Sept 20, 2007) sale of South Asian Modern
and Contemporary Art at auction house Christie's
in New York realized $10.1 million, established
12 new world auction records and was led by
Tyeb Mehtas Mahisasura, at $1.1 million.
The sale was equally driven by strong prices
for contemporary artists.

SALE OF INDIAN ART RAISES $17 MILLION |
Christie's
New York sale of Modern and Contemporary Indian
Art held on 20 September 2006 totaled $17,811,360
million, the highest total ever achieved in
the field. It also confirms the spectacular
rise of Indian art - this sale's top lot was
Francis Newton Souzas Man and Woman
which realized $1,360,000 and was bought by
an Indian hedge fund manager.
